Fisher Preseason Maintenance Checklist

Fisher Plow Owners. Are you winter ready? Now is a good time to perform a preseason maintenance check on both your plow and your truck. Here’s a list to get you started.

1. Check all plow fasteners. You’ll find torque recommendations in your Fisher plow owners manual.
2. Check all cotter pins.
3. Inspect all welds.
4. Check cutting edges for uneven wear and replace if necessary.
5. Check all electrical routings and connections. Look for cuts, bends and rubbing.
6. Add dielectrical grease to all electrical connections.
7. Check Hydraulic hoses for leaks, cracks, or damage and that hoses are routed properly.
8. Drain and replace all plow hydraulic fluids annually.
9. Verify that all snowplow functions are working properly. Up, down, left, right, etc.
10. Check all plow lights and turn signals.
11. Make sure all plow mount fasteners/bolts are tight.
12. Test truck battery and clean terminals if corroded.
13. Check tire pressure, engine oil, brake fluid, transmission fluid, radiator fluid and windshield washer level.
